Hey all! How is everything? Hope all is going well for you :)
Well, today I would like to share with you how school has been for me! First of all, I wanna say that I'm truly so thankful for T106 because the people I have met are really amazing and so inclusive, you never feel like you have been left out. I'm so glad we have class lunches and all because it keeps us bonded and even though its only going to be for 1 semester, they are still going to be the very first classmates that you had in poly.
Lecture Day was quite draining personally, but then again it was kept interesting because we have amazing lecturers that make listening to lecture fun! Poly has definitely been a different learning so far because there are plenty of times when we have to answer questions spontaneously! There was one thing that shook me a little that day, when Ms Sharon told us that during our next lesson we had to present a speech and initially it got me thinking: WHAT, that is very little time to prepare. The learning is definitely fast-paced but then I realised when we enter the working world in the future, I guess when tasks are being given to you on the spot, you are expected to finish them and hand up asap so I GUESS THIS PREPARES US FOR THE FUTURE? Especially in the media world, "time and tide waits for no man". Haha.
On the day when we were told to present our speeches, I got to know my classmates a little better from the speeches they gave. There were some that made me tear because of the stories behind their speeches and some that made me laugh because they sure know how to inject humour into their speeches Haha.
In all honesty, I really love visual communication the most so far! (but I do like the others as well!) Its because in viscomm I get to play with elements of design and let my creativity flow! I'm someone who is really into art, design, aesthetics and so this is one module that I really enjoy my time in Heh.
Overall, the week was pretty great and I'm pretty sure as time passes, the workload is gonna get tougher.
But with loving lecturers and friends, I believe we can get through this :)
Love,
Amanda
