Hey y'all!
Whoever actually reads the stuff I even write here, THANK YOU.
Let's be honest, I really didn't think a lot of people would be reading my blogposts and my friend asked me if I still keep my blog up to date which made me realise how long I haven't written anything here. BUT. I have a surprise announcement at the end of this post! Hopefully that makes up for it. Haha.
FIRST OF ALL, I am terribly sorry for not posting for nearly a month? OMG, school has been pretty great I have to say. I mean,
considering I'm still able to get sleep at 11pm is pretty good, don't you think? HAHAHAH. So what has been up in life so far? WELL. For the past month, I have been to a art book fair, an art market and watched Riverdale.
RIVERDALE IS THE BEST THING EVER!!!! If any of you are Archie comic fans, you need to watch it.
I also visited the Singapore Art Book Fair and it was an interesting experience, considering it was my first. Got to meet a lot of creatives who are so talented in what they do. From local magazine start ups like FAMZINE. They actually produced a magazine about food and the magazine was put into a Zhi char box which was pretty dope if I have to be completely honest with you. but for the price of $50, my wallet couldn't take it. Sian. But I did meet some Asia writers like Kerol, from Malaysia and owner? of Musotrees magazine (which I bought his 3rd book), its really interesting to see how he puts his travels into his magazine and write about what he has seen in the world on his trips. Plus, I have an obsession with travel magazines cuz I love to see the images they take and the things they share about what they see from their travels. Loving the book Kerol! If you ever read this lol. I also got to meet artistic people like chirashibomb and mypaperpigeon, their art work and stickers they make are really pretty. Kind of why I ended up with a lot of their stickers or postcards haha. Lastly, I got the Trippin Tokyo book from AAAH.SHOP. A lovely couple that put together a travel guide of places you should visit in Tokyo if you love design and food and I think it's gonna come in handy when I go back to Tokyo one day hahahaha.
SO. I kinda reflected after going to the book fair and if you know me, I personally have an obsession with magazines, from travel to fashion to just looking at the images that are taken in it's pages and it got me thinking. Why not start your own? If these people could jot up a book or creations, I thought, why not I do one too? I mean its a pretty interesting project I'M embarking on my own right now. That's the surprise. By the way, many of you are probably saying magazines are dying cuz we have the internet now but if I got to be honest with you, I hope it doesn't. There is something about magazines that I live for, holding a hard copy and casually flipping through the pages feels way better than just reading it off the computer.
Cheers mate,
AMANDA
